Dean Martin in ‘Sergeants 3’

Dean Martin (center) is in costume with Frank Sinatra and Peter Lawford for their 1962 film Sergeants 3. The comedy, said to be a remake of Gunga Din, featured the three as "lusty, brawling U.S. Cavalry sergeants" in the American West in 1870. Sinatra, ever the alpha male, has a bonus doodad above his sergeant's stripes, no doubt indicating that he's the top dog among the three. Such things were important in the Rat Pack. Sammy Davis, Jr. and Joey Bishop had supporting roles, making Sergeants 3 the last film to feature the entire Rat Pack.
