Aaliyah stops for a photo at the 2001 MTV Movie Awards. This was at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on June 2, 2001. Aaliyah was nominated for two awards that year, and she and P. Diddy presented the award for Best Dance Sequence. Tragically, Aaliyah was killed in an airplane crash just over two months later, on August 25, 2001.
