He is a major celebrity in Taiwan, where scientific achievement is rewarded with rock star status.

The song “Dr. Wu” is from the wonderful 1975 album Katy Lied. Still, it’s not too clear what The Times means by “unofficial theme song.” Does “Dr. Wu” play whenever the secretary walks onstage? That would be awesome!
Alas, a Google search shows no other dual mentions of Dr. Chu and the song.
