Alexander the Great riding Bucephalus

A selected section of the Alexander Mosaic -- a Roman floor mosaic created around 100 BC in the city of Pompeii. The full mosaic depicts Alexander the Great's battle with Darius III of Persia at the Battle of Issus in 333 BC. Alexander is shown here riding his famous horse, Bucephalus.
