U.S Postal Service

The Bette Davis postage stamp

Actress Bette Davis is seen here on her 42-cent postage stamp, released by the U.S. Postal Service in 2008. The USPS announcement read, in part: "On 18 September, 2008, the U.S. Postal Service added another collectible postage stamp to its Legends of Hollywood commemorative stamps series with their dedication of the first class 42-cent Bette Davis stamp." Bette Davis (1908-1989) appeared on the 14th stamp in the Legends of Hollywood stamp series. Others featured in the series included Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Alfred Hitchcock, and (sigh) Lucille Ball.
