Bristol Palin in 2011

Bristol Palin, daughter of politician Sarah Palin, poses for a photo before the Candie's Foundation 2011 "Event to Prevent" benefit gala at Cipriani in New York City. The date was May 3, 2011. Bristol Palin was, at the time, in her moment of celebrity after her mother's rise to fame on the losing GOP presidential ticket with John McCain in 2008. Bristol Palin was born in 1990, so she turned 21 the year this photo was taken.

The Candie's Foundation, per Wikipedia, "was a non-profit organization promoting abstinence-only education through paid advertising campaigns. After facing public criticism over financial decisions and stigmatizing campaigns, the Candie's Foundation rebranded as TheNext.Org in May 2016, then ceased operations in 2017." The entry continues, "The organization has come under criticism. From the $1,242,476 donated by the public, $35,000 went to charities and a $262,500 paycheck was given to Bristol Palin for her role as an ambassador for their teen pregnancy prevention campaign in 2009, who again became pregnant out-of-wedlock to an unconfirmed father in 2015."
