Gretchen Mol Biography

Gretchen Mol played 1950s pinup model Bettie Page in the 2005 movie The Notorious Bettie Page. The early part of Mol's career is defined by a late 1990s storm of publicity that cast her as Hollywood's next hot actress. In 1998 she appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair and appeared in several movies, including starring opposite Matt Damon in Rounders and Leonardo DiCaprio in Woody Allen's Celebrity. When box office results didn't match the hype, Mol was pushed from the limelight, but continued to work in lower-profile projects and TV movies. Her other movies include Paul Schrader's Forever Mine (1999), Attraction (2000) and 3:10 to Yuma (2007, starring Christian Bale and Russell Crowe).
