John F. Kennedy Jr. waits to speak about the importance of education for which he and his sister have personally endowed scholarship funds to the Jackie Robinson Foundation. Jackie Robinson was the first African-American professional baseball player. JFK Jr. was born in 1960 and died at age 38 in the crash of a private plane he was piloting on July 16, 1999.
