Nicole Beharie Biography
Nicole “Nikki” Beharie is an American actress who is best known as Lt. Abbie Mills on the TV series Sleepy Hollow (starring Tom Mison). Raised in Florida, she attended high school at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities in Greenville before studying drama at Juilliard between 2003 and 2007. She made her film debut in The Express (2008), followed by her first leading role (and an African-American Film Critics Award for best actress) in American Violet (2008). Beharie had another leading role in My Last Day Without You (2011), then co-starred with Michael Fassbender in Steve McQueen‘s Shame (2011). She played Rachel Robinson (Jackie Robinson‘s wife) in the biopic 42 (2013), and then had a hit series with Sleepy Hollow, an updated fantasy based on the Washington Irving‘s short story.
