Sarah Palin's Daughter Is Pregnant

"Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned... Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family."
GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, now confirming rumors that her daughter Bristol, 17, is pregnant.

Here's the full statement on the McCain-Palin website.

Congradulations!! We are so pleased to see a normal family getting into the white house and may your new born be strong and healthy. Even though you are young like many others just remember your family will always be there for you. Again congrats!!

klickitat...you truly support this nonsense...I understand parents can not control there children sometimes but this is unacceptable, and a person of such high grade...I do not think that this is something to support and be proud of and Sarah Palin is 100% not fit to be a voice president, she & her daughter is bring disgrace on the Republicans...younger girls can not have a role model like her, or else your daughter, sister, cousin will have a reason to do the same and I am sure you will not like or support it.

The only thing you could do would be to give them your love and support. I can speak for most young men and women in saying "It could have been any of us" I believe that anyone can overcome anything that comes our way. It may not seem ideal for someone possibly going into office, but I commend her for coming forth with it right away. I believe that MOST candidates that have ever been up for office have had things that may not seem "ideal" We just didn't know about them. I wish the family the best of luck...God bless!

What is worse a teenager who ends up pregnant but will marry the father or the x-president's wife putting up with his sexual exploits in the oval ofice so she cold take a run at being president?
What we need isn't prefection because it doesn't exist but we do need forthrightness and honesty - vote for who you think comes closest.

Wow! How interesting that your values don't include the "For Better or Worse" part of a marriage vow! You're implying that, because of her husband's actions, divorce was the correct choice for Senator Clinton? Heaven help us if every marriage that has experienced infidelity ends in divorce!

What concerns me about Sarah Palin is that her decision to run for such a high and visible office is that her poor daughter must suffer the consequences of everyone in the world knowing her mistake. I cannot imagine subjecting my own daughter to such scrutiny, not to even mention the fact that her young infant son needs all her attention too at the moment. She may not be a bad candidate...that remains to be seen, but to disregard the best interest of her family and children for her own selfish political aspirations to me makes her a terrible mother.

Children go off and do things without their parents permission all the time. The fact that this girl got pregnant and that she and her current fiance are stepping up and taking responsibility gives me a great deal of respect for them. This kind of thing could have happened to anyone, it just happened to someone who is going to be put up in the spotlight for a little while. If your gonna complain about this girl who is 17 having a baby then getting married calling her a bad role model, maybe you should think about all the publicity surrounding Jamie Lynn Spears. She got pregnant at 15 and she was incredibly famous and well looked up to by children of all ages. I hardly think that criticizing the acts of one 17 year old who no one had ever heard of before this, can remotely compare to a nationally known teenage star's pregnancy being paraded through the public.

I am so excited about Sarah Palin being Vice-President! The situation concerning her daughter being pregnant is just that, a situation. This happens quite often in all kinds of American households. Any parent knows, we cannot control the actions, or the mistakes our children will make along the walk of life. We teach them right and wrong, but it is their decision to choose. When mistakes are made, it is how we as parents respond is just as important. Bringing another life into the world is a huge responsibility. I have no doubt that Sarah Palin has set such an example that Bristol will be able to handle this responsibility. I admire the strength that both are demonstrating during this family crisis. I feel that Bristol knows her mother will make America a better place for her children and ours and that is why she can be so strong in such a personal matter.

I have no complaint about the girl herself, only pity that her mother has put her in the spotlight for her own political aspirations. Of course it could happen to any of our children, none of us are perfect and have complete control of our children. However, we do have control over the situations we put our children into. In my opinion, at this time, she needs to focus on the best interests of her children, not her own selfish political aspirations. She had to know that this would put Bristol under a microscope, at a time when she is already stressed and needs her privacy. To me, that is the evidence of bad parenting, not the pregnancy itself.

First of all, it is just like 'us' to believe what politicians say. Sure, Palin will 'say' that her daughter is soon-to-wed her 'baby daddy', which he seems to be clueless about. However, he STILL is her 'babydaddy'. Just accept the fact that she is not the first, or the last, pregnant teen. Nevertheless, that's not the issue at hand. Palin was some type of pageant child and a basketball player. If these are the qualifications for becoming VP, then where is America headed? We should want someone to lead us with zeal and compassion for people. America needs to change. This is just another matter of 'desperate times call for desperate measures'. McCain chose Palin because of gender, and that perhaps she could sway the votes of the candidates who only chose to vote for Hilary because of GENDER. Nothing more. So, leave the child alone and focus on reality.

Congratulations to the whole Palin family for the exceptional RNC speech and the news of Bristol & Levi expecting a baby. I personally think John McCain made a great choice in selecting Sarah as his VP, she certainly has more experiences than the Democrat choice. One should never point a finger because there's almost always 3 pointing back at You.

Bristol Palin is NOT running for office, her Mother is. I am sure that your child (children) has done s-o-m-e-t-h-i-n-g that you were not completely happy with so before pointing a finger, clean up around your owe. Never throw rocks from a glass house. Please leave this young teens personal business out of the media. God is the "only" one to pass judgement! God bless America

All you all know that you can spin it anyway you want to. The fact remains that Palin ran on a platform of ethics and family values. No way you try to spin it she is a baby mama, the way most of America characterizes African-American females. Deal with it and stop talking out of both sides of your mouth, if it was Obama's daughter, 17 and pregnant there would alreafy be a movie in the works. Republicans are so full of them. Congratulations my ass, it is ridiculous that she is pregnant.

I can't believe people can be so ignorant about the situation of Sarah Palin's daughter being pregnant. At least some good will come of it. There will be the birth of a new child. Not a child that was murdered and washed down the drain by abortion. She made a human mistake, and can be a good advicate to other young girls to NOT make the same mistake.
Besides, there are worse things in the world, such as murder, drugs etc. Get real people!!! As for Sarah Palin, she is an intelligent woman, something we haven't seen in a long time in politics. Just look at her track record. In ending, I just want to say, don't judge this young girl, you may find the same situtation in your own family one day.

well i think it is real bogus!! she is 17 and pregnanrt. people want to see role models not the palins (trash). This family is so out of wack we dont need this in office. as a woman sarah will be to stressed

Not pointing fingers at anyone or praising anyone. But Mrs. Palin's Daughter, Bristol, made a good choice that would make a role model, first by not choosing abortion and second by marrying the man who was involved. Just a question for the people out there who say Bristol and Mrs. Palin is crazy, what would you do if she chose abortion and Mrs. Palin agreed with that? Would you make a big deal, saying that it's not what you want for our children to idolize? The presidential election is not about Bristol, it's about Mrs. Palin, Mr. McCain, Mr. Barack, and Mr. Biden. My biggest question is why make such a big deal over Bristol choosing life, and not really saying much about many other girls her age that choose abortion? Another one is who do you want girls Bristol's age to look up to, Bristol who chose not to, really, kill the baby, or someone who decided to kill the baby? Also about Mrs. Palin being stressed and being a horrible mother, I honestly think that she wouldn't put her family to the side or neglect them, one great example that she cares for her family is that she chose to have the son who has physical issues. Mrs. Palin would have also turned down McCain's offer if it was too much for her. That's my thoughts and like I said, I'm not pointing fingers or praising anyone, just putting out the facts and I pray that the people will vote for who THEY honestly think should go, not what other people say who to vote for.

It would be wonderful if the candidate supported health coverage for all teen-age girls who are pregnent and the infants they bring into the world, wouldn't it?

I belive sara palin is no more moral than bill clinton.shes sneaky and underhanded.trying to have her brother inlaw fired.becouse her sister is haveing A messy divorce.seems to me as she is useing her power forpersonal control.atleast bill reformed welfare.palins daughter is a great example for the future underage girls welcome to the welfare line

I believe that Sarag Palin's pregnant 17 year old daughter should not have been the first big news about sarah palin... in fact... i would have liked to know her plans with the nomination as VP. Her pregnant daughter is the least of my worries with the economy at the state that it is in.
