Oral Roberts is Dead

Christian evangelist and television star Oral Roberts has died at the age of 91.

According to this report, he was admitted to the hospital over the weekend, after taking a fall at his home.

Oral Roberts was one of the first big-name TV evangelists. He began with revival meetings in big tents in the 1940s, and in the mid-1950s he began broadcasting on television. He also founded Oral Roberts University in the 1960s in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

That's where he was in 1980 when he saw a 900-foot tall Jesus, who encouraged Roberts to keep raising funds for more construction.
