Robert Downey, Jr. is Mr. Peanut

Actor Robert Downey, Jr. is the voice of Mr. Peanut, the Planters Peanuts character. For the last century or so Mr. Peanut has not had a voice.

A spokesman for Mr. Peanut said Downey was chosen for his "everyman suaveness."
