Les Paul is featured on today's Google Doodle -- he was born on this day in 1915. Which gives us a chance to mention our photo essay, Stars Playing Les Paul Guitars.

That shot of KISS in concert in Milan is a beauty. (That's Tommy Thayer -- the guy who took over for Ace Frehley in 2002.) When the heavy-metal dudes forsake their spiky silver guitars to play your honey-colored beauty, then pretty much everyone is playing your guitar.
