Ricardo Montalban Pitches the Cordoba
Nobody uttered "Cordoba" quite like Ricardo Montalban. "Great comfort at a most pleasant price," indeed.
It's a measure of Montalban's talent that he could make a memorable ad out of such an ugly ride.
30 years later, "Corinthian leather" now has its own Wikipedia entry. ("Does not actually indicate any relationship with Corinth.") And though the line is often parodied as "reech Corinthian leather," true Montalbanophiles know that he actually murmured "soft," not "rich."
For Star Trek fans, here's a pretty-darn-good mashup of Cordoba and Khan.
