Bob Dylan Turns 70: Three Photos

Bob Dylan turns 70 today.  Is it wrong to say that he seems older than that?

Here's how he looked in the acoustic 1960s...

Photo of a frisky, smooth-skinned young Bob Dylan, playing the harmonica on a holder as he strums the guitar... electrified on his 1978 "Street Legal" world tour...

Photo of an older Bob Dylan, in colored lighting onstage, gripping an electric guitar...and as the Gentleman Troubadour at the Byron Bay Bluesfest in Australia last month:

Photo of a courtly-looking Bob Dylan playing electric guitar and wearing an expensive-looking wide-brimmed felt hatThat Australian concert came 50 years after his debut at Gerde's Folk City in Greenwich Village on 11 April 1961.

The Rock Hall of Fame, not holding back, calls Bob Dylan "the uncontested poet laureate of the rock and roll era and the pre-eminent singer/songwriter of modern times."
