General Petraeus to Replace General McChrystal

Those nasty things said in Rolling Stone magazine by U.S. General Stanley McChrystal have cost him his job.

President Barack Obama met with General McChrystal this morning, then announced that the general was being replaced by General David Petraeus as the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

General Petraeus, the head of U.S. Central Command, was the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq in 2007 and 2008.

The word is that General McChrystal offered the president his resignation after the whole world read in Rolling Stone that our top military leader in Afghanistan doesn’t care who hears what he has to say.
