Good stuff: Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac play “Rhiannon” live in 1976 — the year after their debut album, Fleetwood Mac, and the year before the release of their smash album “Rumours.”
Worth watching even if at the 3:40 mark the band goes into a typical 1970s bizarro dream-break, while the audience silently fidgets… although Nicks does deliver a prototype of the faerie-witch-lace dance spin that became her signature in the 1980s.
And! This clip inspired me to finally look up the lyrics to the song.
Raise your hand if you knew that the first line was “Rhiannon rings like a bell thru the night.” Seriously.
