Wikipedia and Jaimee Grubbs

Wikipedia has no profile of Jaimee Grubbs so far.

Which is interesting, because a few days ago we noted that Wikipedia had no profile of Rachel Uchitel, either. (She was the first to be connected to Tiger Woods in a hubba-hubba way, in case you’re keeping score.) In that case, a (admirably) high-minded Wikipedia editor said “We are not here to repeat National Enquirer rumours.”

Wikipedia does mention Jaimee Grubbs in its entry on the silly VH1 show Tool Academy, noting that Grubbs appeared on the first episode with a boyfriend, Shawn Southern, but was replaced by a different Southern girlfriend for the rest of the show.

But so far, no Wikipedia profile of Jaimee Grubbs herself.

Note: Wikipedia has since added a profile for Rachel Uchitel, with the note that “This article is being considered for deletion in accordance with Wikipedia’s deletion policy.”

The policy in question may be this one:

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid paper; it is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people’s lives.

Again, admirable. But it seems like this story has gone beyond the “sensationalist” stage, for better or worse.

(Misspellings: Jamie Grubbs, Jamie Grubs, Jaime Grubbs)
