Charles Lindbergh

Charles Lindbergh, wearing an old-fashioned helmet with his goggles up, in the open cockpit of airplane at Lambert Field in St. Louis, Missouri.  The Library of Congress identifies this photo as being taken in 1923 and published circa 1928.  Lindbergh became the first man to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1927.
