People magazine, getting ahead of the news, published this 100th birthday tribute to actress Betty White earlier this week. The issue date is January 10, 2022.
Unfortunately, Betty White died yesterday at age 99 years, 348 days. Magazines often do print runs days or weeks early to get ahead of news and to distribute to sellers, so this was more a case of unfortunate timing than bad judgment. Betty White *would* have turned 100 on January 17, 2022, bless her. “Funny never gets old” indeed.
