Future president John F. Kennedy, shown aboard PT-109 during World War II. He was then Lt. (jg) John F. Kennedy, and his ship the PT-109 was stationed at Tulagi, Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. The year is 1943; later that year, PT-109 was sunk in action in the South Pacific.
