Tatiana Golovin

Tennis Player

Like Maria Sharapova and Ashley Harkleroad before her, Golovin is a favorite with tennis fans looking for the next baseline beauty in the Anna Kournikova mode. Like Kournikova, Golovin was born in Russia, but her family moved to France when Golovin was less than a year old. In 2004 she was named WTA Tour Newcomer of the Year after reaching the fourth round at both the Australian Open and Wimbledon. The same year she won the mixed doubles competition at the French Open, paired with fellow French phenom Richard Gasquet; she was 16 and Gasquet was 17 at the time.

Other tennis stars of Golovin's era: Americans Serena and Venus Williams, Belgian Kim Clijsters and Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova.
