Tonight Show host Johnny Carson (right) looks into the distance in his role as "Carnac the Magnificent." Carnac was a regular comical bit on Carson's show: dressed in a turban, "Carnac" would hold sealed envelopes to his forehead, predict the answers, then open the envelope and read the gag questions to laughter from the audience.
