Amelia Earhart, in Boston, with flowers

Aviator Amelia Earhart (second from right, with flowers), along with Wilmer Stultz and Louis Gordon, are greeted at the Boston airport by Mayor Malcolm E. Nichols (far left, with classic Boston top hat) upon their arrival from New York in July of 1928. This was shortly after Earhart, flying with the other two men, became the first woman to fly across the Atlantic in a multi-person plane.
