Ann B. Davis Biography
Ann B. Davis was a television actress whose role as Alice-the-housekeeper in The Brady Bunch made her a 1970s pop culture icon. When the show debuted in 1969, Davis was already a TV star, but from a decade before. A co-star of The Bob Cummings Show from 1955 to 1959, her portrayal of wisecracking “Schultzy” brought her four Emmy nominations (she won twice). In The Brady Bunch, she was the wise-cracking Alice, dropping bits of wisdom in between broad comic adventures. Davis went on to do commercials and continued to play Alice in the various Brady Bunch projects, including The Brady Brides (1981) and The Brady Bunch Movie (1995), but for the most part she retired from show business to focus on her Christian faith in an Episcopal community.
