Fred Flintstone (left), for reasons unknown, stares at the bare back of his wife, Wilma. Their friends Barney Rubble and Betty Rubble look on with amusement. The four "Stone Age" humans starred in the animated sitcom The Flintstones on the ABC network from 1960-1966. The show, created by Hanna-Barbera Productions, then found an endless second life in syndicated reruns. One of the show's signature visual touches was that the men had three toes, while the women had delicate cloven hooves.
