Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, getting an elf kiss that never happened

Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood) gets a smooch from the elf queen Galadriel (Cate Blanchett) in a scene that is most assuredly not in the Lord of the Rings books. Galadriel is quite kind to Frodo, but she never nuzzles his hair with her lips, nor would she; she's a little too distant and regal for that. This does give us a chance to see Elijah Wood's patented frowny "troubled Frodo" face, which he seems to wear for most of the movie. The bottom line, as always: read the books, kids! Ignore the movies! Lord of the Rings is a work of imagination that's meant to happen in your mind, even if the descendants of J.R.R. Tolkien did cash in for huge dollars on the movies. You can't really blame them for gettin' as rich as rappers, but it still ain't right.
