Gong Li in ‘Curse of the Golden Flower’

Gong Li and her bosom co-star in this scene from Curse of the Golden Flower, a 2006 historical epic directed by Zhang Yimou. Chow Yun-Fat (right) also appeared. Chow Yun-Fat played the Emperor, and Gong Li the Empress, in a twisty tale of palace intrigue, armies, assassins, and poisoned tea. The film received an Academy Award nomination for best costume design, but lost to another costume epic, Marie Antionette, which somehow managed to be even more over-the-top than this. Gong Li's bosom was not nominated.
