Jack Lemmon holds his last Golden Globe

We are digging Jack Lemmon's red bow tie, which is he wearing at the Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, California on January 23, 2000. He had just won the Golden Globe award as best actor in a television movie, for his role as the lawyer Henry Drummond (a thinly-veiled version of real-life lawyer Clarence Darrow) in the 1999 production of Inherit the Wind. Jack Lemmon was born in 1925, so he turned 75 the year this photo was taken. He received six Golden Globe awards during his career, including a Cecil B. DeMille award in 1991 and an ensemble cast award for Short Cuts in 1994. He died 17 months after this photo was taken, on June 27, 2001.
