James Doohan as ‘Scotty’ with a phaser

James Doohan (right, as chief engineer Montgomery "Scotty" Scott) looks skeptically at an unseen adversary. He's joined by Leonard Nimoy (left, as Lt. Cmdr. Spock) and William Shatner (as Captain James T. Kirk) in this well-posed photo from the TV series Star Trek. The series ran from 1966-69 on the NBC TV network, and spawned the vast Star Trek empire we know today. This photo is a nice representation of each character: Spock calmly logical, Kirk the confident alpha male, and Scotty the skeptical hothead.
