Just to start out with the obvious: Yes, that is a phony cut and swollen cheek that Jim Carrey is wearing in this shot. Movie magic! Carrey is seen here greeting fans on the set of the film The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, which starred Steve Carrell in the title role as a nerd-turned-Las Vegas headlining magician. Carrey played his enemy, the dangerous street magician Steve Gray. (Presumably the fake injury was from one of the character's on-the-edge street stunts.)
