Marcus Garvey

A photo of Marcus Garvey in 1924. Garvey was the founder of the newspaper Negro World and leader of the "back to Africa" movement for blacks. He was born in 1887, so he would have turned 37 the year this photo was taken.

The photo is part of the George Grantham Bain collection at the U.S. Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division. (LC-USZ61-1854)
