Margaret Thatcher

HRH The Queen and Prince Philip address Lord Major Roger Gifford as they leave Born Margaret Hilda Roberts on 13th October, 1925, in Grantham, England, Thatcher became one of the most influential figures of the 20th century after entering politics in the 1950s. Nicknamed The Iron Lady for her tough conservative stance, Thatcher became Britain's first female prime minister after waging a successful general election campaign in 1979 and she went on to serve three consecutive terms in office.
