Phillis Wheatley

An engraving of the poet Phillis Wheatley, created for the frontispiece of her book Poems on Various Subjects, Religious and Moral. The book was published in London in 1773. The engraving is by Scipio Moorhead.

The caption encircling the image reads, "Phillis Wheatley, Negro servant to Mr. John Wheatley, of Boston."
