Ringo Starr and The Beatles look glum

Drummer Ringo Star (top right) poses with the rest of the band The Beatles in a 1960s press photo. Clockwise from top left: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, George Harrison. This was from the band's mod/hairy phase in the later 1960s. Still, why so glum? George Harrison seems to offer the hint of a smile, but everyone else looks like they've been working at hard labor in Liverpool for years prior to being dressed up in frippery for this photo. Well, that's one of the mysteries of rock photography, isn't it?
