Stephen Hawking in his wheelchair

Stephen William Hawking, CH, CBE, FRS (1942-2018) was a theoretical physicist of some renown. Hawking was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge from 1979-2009. Hawking was diagnosed with ALS in the 1960s but continued with his career from his wheelchair. The sensor seen near his right cheek allowed him to communicate with a twitch of the cheek muscle.
