Superman on the cover of Action Comics No. 42

Superman flies into action on the cover of Action Comics Number 42 in November of 1941. By then, Superman was rising faster than a speeding bullet: he had first appeared in Action Comics Number 1 in 1938, a Superman radio show had debuted in 1940, and Superman animated cartoons appeared in 1941 as well.
