The Daniels Biography

The filmmaking duo known as the Daniels is made up of Daniel Kwan (10 February 1988)  and Daniel Sheinert (7 June 1987).

Together their second feature film, Everything Everywhere All At Once, was nominated for 11 Oscars in 2023; the Daniels won three each (for best director, best picture and best screenplay).

Both attended Emerson College in Boston, but it wasn’t until after they’d graduated that they began working together in 2011.

After entering video and film contests and making television commercials (Nike, Apple, et al) and music videos (including “Turn Down For What” by DJ Snake), the two Daniels released their first feature film, Swiss Army Man (2016).

The oddball comedy starred Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe and was a hit at Sundance.

Everything Everywhere All At Once was released in 2022, and Oscars went to editor Paul Rogers, star Michelle Yeoh (best actress) and supporting co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan (co-star Stephanie Hsu was also Oscar-nominated).
