It’s over. Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his den this morning and, in a rock-star ritual enhanced with texting, predicted six more weeks of winter.
Yes, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow:
“If you want to know next,
you must read my text.
As the sky shines bright above me,
my shadow I see beside me.
So six more weeks of winter it will be.”
Rats.
There’s some hope, though: Phil’s usually not right.
Although in Canada, Shubenacadie Sam (really!) agreed with him.
Now Phil can relax, in any case. And we can stop mis-typing Punxutawney Phil, Punksutawney Phil, Punxsutawny Phil, and Punxustawney Phil (and Shubbanakadddy Sam) for another year.
