Brian Eno Biography

Name at birth: Brian Peter George St. John le Baptiste de la Salle Eno

Brian Eno co-founded art-rock band Roxy Music in the early 1970s, then embarked on his own recording career as a performer and, more importantly, a producer.

His experiments with synthesizers made Eno a pioneer in electronic “ambient” music, but Eno has also collaborated with big-time rock artists such as Robert Fripp, David Bowie, The Talking Heads (especially David Byrne), Devo, U2 and Coldplay.

An avant-garde-pop artist in video, computers and music, he has also had commercial success as a producer and his music is often heard in movies and television commercials.

His solo albums include Here Come the Warm Jets (1973), Discreet Music (1975), Music For Airports (1978), Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks (1983), Thursday Afternoon (1985), Nerve Net (1992), Head Candy (1994), Another Day on Earth (2005), and Reflection (2017).
