Charlie Chaplin’s old-time camera

This historic camera belonging to screen legend Charlie Chaplin was put up for auction in London in 2007. The Bell and Howell 2709 was used to film many of Chaplin's masterful silent films, including The Kid (1921) and The Gold Rush (1925). Gotta admit, that is pretty historic as cameras go. The camera was expected to sell for up to £90,000, but in the end, it brought in nothing at all: Per the website RetroThing, the bidding failed to meet the reserve price, and so the camera went unsold.
