Adrienne Barbeau in a flapper outfit (maybe?)

Adrienne Barbeau smiles for photographers at the 40th anniversary of the movie Mary Poppins, which also celebrated the launch of a special edition DVD of the movie. This was at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California on November 30, 2004.

Adrienne Barbeau's velvet dress and dangly necklace seem like a nod to the Roaring 20s. If true, this makes a vague sort of sense: the original Mary Poppins book by P.L. Travers was set in the 1930s, and the film was set in 1910. A flapper outfit from the 1920s would split the difference quite neatly.
