Charles Lindbergh after his Atlantic flight in 1927

Pilot Charles Lindbergh (1902-1974) smiles triumphantly on May 22, 1927. This was right after his signature achievement: making the first solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean, a 33.5-hour trip he made on May 21-22. Lindbergh being a practical-minded pilot, a perfect haircut was not the first thing on his mind.
