A Christopher Columbus tobacco label

"The Pride of Columbus" reads this tobacco label from the 1860s, showing a Native American presenting a sheaf of tobacco leaves to Christopher Columbus. Above them are three monkeys, a dog, and a rabbit (!) enjoying a smoke. The caption reads "Manufactured expressly for A. Levy, 143 South High St., Columbus."

This lithograph is from the U.S. Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division. The probability that this scene represents a real moment in history is extremely low.
