Fatty Arbuckle’s mug shot from San Francisco

The mugshot of movie comedian Fatty Arbuckle, taken by the San Francisco Police Department in 1921. Arbuckle had been charged with the rape and manslaughter of actress Virginia Rappe, who fell ill and then died after a party at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. After a series of three trials, Arbuckle was acquitted -- although by then, his reputation in Hollywood had been ruined.
