Here's something you don't see every day: Jimi Hendrix's hat without Jimi Hendrix. In this case, we're seeing archivist Gemma Harris hold up the so-called Westerner hat that Hendrix sometimes wore onstage. (Note the western-themed horse-and-rider medallions on the rim, along with the Southwestern turquoise stone.) This was at The Handel House Museum in London on August 16, 2010 as it prepared for a 'Hendrix in Britain' exhibition to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Jimi Hendrix's death. Which is why the hat was there without Jimi Hendrix.
