This Jimi Hendrix gambling chip, of the $25 variety, was issued by Las Vegas's Hard Rock Hotel in 2003. The color scheme is unusual -- $25 chips are typically green -- but understandable in light of the "Purple Haze" theme, a nod to his hit 1967 single of that name with his band The Jimi Hendrix Experience. And lyrics from "Purple Haze" also fit right in with clockless, windowless, neon-lit casino experience:"Purple haze all in my eyesDon't know if it's day or nightYou got me blowing, blowing my mindIs it tomorrow or just the end of time?"
