Groundbreaking for the Martin Luther King, Jr. memorial

The family of Martin Luther King, plus Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rep. John Lewis, and (for some reason) basketball star Bill Walton, gather to turn the first shovels of earth for the Martin Luther King Memorial at the Tidal Basin on the Washington Mall. This was in Washington, DC on November 13, 2006. Jesse Jackson and (at far right) John Lewis are turning this particular shovelful of dirt. Al Sharpton is in profile at far left, with Bill Walton standing behind him.
