Rick James, looking a little older

He wasn't the sexy Rick James of "Super Freak" days, but Rick James was still wearing the clothes at the 2004 ASCAP Awards in Los Angeles, California. The date was June 29 of 2004, the year Rick James turned 54. It was also, sadly, the year he passed away: Six weeks after this photo, on August 6, 2004, Rick James died of heart failure. Yikes!
