Salvador Dali’s melting clocks painting, ‘The Persistence of Memory,’ in a subway station

Salvador Dali's painting 'The Persistence of Memory' -- also widely known as the melting clocks painting -- is shown in a reproduction from a Museum of Modern Art display inside the Atlantic Pacific subway station in Brooklyn, New York City. The date was February of 2009. Dali created the original painting in 1931, and 'Persistence of Memory' went on to become probably his best-known work.
